A total of 10,000 constables are to be recruited in Haryana. The recruitment is being conducted by Haryana Staff Selection Commission. The physical screening started on June 15 and will continue till July 4.Since the physical screening started, around 100 aspirants have been admitted to the LNJP hospital after they collapsed due to physical exhaustion during the test. All except two were discharged after treatment.
Civil Surgeon, Kurukshetra, Dr S K Nain said the patients who came to the hospital were suffering from anxiety, restlessness and low blood pressure. To say that all of them were taking performance enhancing drugs will not be correct, he added.
Dr Nain said, “The symptoms can be attributed to different things. There could be a latent heart problem. Some might not be physically fit. In the three cases of deaths, there will be clarity once the report of chemical examination is received.
A few aspirants were taking synthetic drugs for enhancing their performance and vials have been found.”
Kurukshetra SP Simardeep Singh said investigation into the case is on and the police was trying to trace the source of the synthetic drugs.
