Toronto police say a male passenger in a car was killed after a car struck a semi-detached house early today. Const. Craig Brister said a 23-year-old man died while the driver, a 22-year-old man, sustained non-life threatening injuries.

The car struck a semi-detached house on Jane Street and Humberview Road just before 4 a.m. Police evacuated the house and the adjoining semi-detached house after the crash.

Police say only one vehicle was involved in the crash and speed was a factor. They are investigating whether alcohol was a factor as well.

The injured man has been taken to Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre for treatment. Police say the area around Jane and Humberview will be closed for several hours for accident reconstruction.
