Police have a man in custody this morning after a fatal shooting in Pineridge in northeast Calgary. Officers responded to multiple calls of shots being fired at a house in the 6900 block of Rundlehorn Drive N.E. at about 12:15 a.m.

A woman in her 30s was found dead in the residence. A 15-year-old girl was taken to hospital in non-life-threatening condition.

Police think the shooting stemmed from a domestic incident.

A short time later, police located the suspect driving in the 4000 block of Whitehorn Drive N.E.

He fired shots from his vehicle but then pulled over and was taken into custody without incident, police say.

An 11-year-old girl and a three-year-old boy, who were found in the vehicle, are now in police custody.

Road closures are in effect on Whitehorn Drive N.E. and will be in place through the morning commute.
