A MAN accused of stabbing two people at a remote property near Mossman has been granted bail. Whyambeel man Storm Woods, 21, has been charged with two counts of grievous bodily harm and appeared in Cairns Magistrates Court this afternoon.

The court heard he intends to defend the charges.

Magistrate Sandra Pearson granted bail on the proviso he lives in Cairns and has no contact with the two alleged victims or a third man who is a witness.

The 21-year-old was arrested by police early this morning.

They have now confirmed he has been charged with two counts of grievous bodily harm and is due to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court this afternoon

A MAN is being questioned by police over an alleged stabbing which has left two people fighting for their lives in hospital.

The 21-year-old man was taken into custody this morning and charges are expected to be laid.

The two victims, a 25-year-man and 39-year-old woman, are both in critical conditions in hospital.

Police confirmed they have established two crime scenes at both the Whyanbeel property where the alleged incident occured and a Kamerunga residence.

POLICE are investigating after a man and a woman were both wounded at a rural property at Whyanbeel (near Mossman) last night.

Initial investigations indicate the man and woman were stabbed during a disturbance at the Kahana Road property shortly after 9pm.

Upon police arrival they located a 25-year-old man with stab wounds to his abdomen and chest and a 39-year-old woman with a stab wound to her chest.

The man and woman have since been airlifted to Cairns Base Hospital with serious injuries.

Investigations are continuing.
