A 28-year-old Hamilton man is in custody after someone aboard a westbound GO bus made a bomb threat. Metrolinx spokesperson Anne Marie Aikins says the double-decker bus was travelling along Highway 407 in Mississauga when a man approached a female passenger and told her he was in possession of an explosive device. The woman then approached the driver, who immediately pulled the bus over to the side of the road.

Ontario Provincial Police were called and, after a brief negotiation, approximately 20 passengers as well as the driver were safely allowed off the bus. Police continued to talk with the suspect who eventually surrendered peacefully.

OPP spokesperson Sgt. Kerry Schmidt said following an investigation, no explosives were found.

Justin Roache, 28, has been charged with one count of mischief
